Switzerland is a a tiny place with a very unique location , mountainous Central European country, home to numerous lakes, villages and the high peaks of the Alps. Its cities contain medieval quarters, with landmarks like capital Bern’s Zytglogge clock tower and Lucerne’s wooden chapel bridge. The country is also known for its ski resorts and hiking trails. Banking and finance are key industries, and Swiss watches and chocolate are world renowned. The first thing that struck us about Lucerne was how cold it was. We guess no one shouldn’t have been surprised, as we started seeing snow building on the grass even while still in the train. But the chill of the wind that greeted us as we stepped out of the train station is brutal. Around Old Town of Lucerne, past various water fountains and statues, then up north towards the site of the famous stone lion, which was carved into the side of a cliff wall to commemorate the Swiss folk that died during the French Revolution. It was definitely worth the trip to see it. You must have A Relaxing Day in Zurich or Interlaken and remind memories of our famous bollywood film DDLJ.
